Out in the back, of the family yard
Stands the stump of and old weathered tree
There at the base where the fungi are growing
Lies the doorway to Evanthe
Late in the evenings when streetlamps have dimmed
When the summer sun’s gone fast asleep
As the rain falls like mist on the shrubs and the herb
The Fay venture out from their keep
Their lanterns are seen as they dance in the night
Landing sometimes in the grass
And if I am lucky to be out on my porch
I can watch as they swiftly fly pass
T`was just such an evening as solstice began
There was chanting for blessings of light
When out from the ancient old remnant arose
The Evanthe Fay taking flight
Spectacular feats such as I’ve ever seen
In wonder, I watched their ballet
Arial dancers, with lanterns all glowing
As acrobats offered their play
I sat very still on my front porch that ev’ning
Quite blessed more than entertained
For they trusted enough to invite me to join them
To dance in the grass as it rained
I will never forget that first time I met them
(The folk living under the tree)
Nor ever betray their love and their kindness
For embracing me in Evanthe
Long time no see, my dear friend! Glad to see you posting again in the den!

Lovely write. Please look after the Faerie Fae. I enjoy when you write in the fantasy mode. It suits you, your quality of language and writing.
