It came in lovely droplets
A summer shower rain
I had to go out in it
To wash away my pain

I lifted up my face to it
And feeling liberated
Closed my eyes, no big surprise
Got kinda twitter-pated

Soaked to the bone, I reminisced
Of all my past ordeals
I know that I've survived them all
And smiled for how that feels

Washed clean and sweet, from summers heat
There are new things that I know
For now I'll dry away the rain
To bathe in afterglow

Until, again, the skies turn gray
For which it will ordain
Another cleansing of the soul
To bathe out in the rain
