*this is mostly tongue in cheek(y). tom has been absolutely wonderful through this whole ordeal. but i couldn't resist a bit of a rib....;-)k

So, the doctors tell me
How grateful I should be
Lucky that I made it
I came thru swimmingly

At first, I thought it crazy
The pain so overwhelmed
That morphine didn't kill it
Just made me feel like hell

I had the sad, remorse's
Those thoughts of failure, too
But, my choices had been minimal
Not much more, that I could do

It's been an uphill battle
Yet, I think I won the fight
If I could just maintain my cool
From those flashes in the night

I now fall in that little niche
That Tom has worried cause
For I am thrust into the state
He hates...called menopause

Consigned to taking hormones
Or swing from mood to mood
Good grief! He should be happy
A ‘brand new woman' might be good

And if he doesn't like "that"
Just wait a little minute
I'm bound to change my attitude
And a new one may be in it

I know that I can hear him now
Oh yes, of me, he's fond
But grateful for the wide expanse
And safety ‘cross the pond

For me it's a ‘no brainer'
I think I'd rather live
For hot flashes of this type are best
Than the alternative
