Throughout history, this day was celebrated as the day to welcome back the sun from the long winter and long nights. It's Celtic origins are similar, as Brigit (the bride) is prepared to meet the bridegroom (the sun).
Although it is Pagan in its origin...aren't all of our holiday celebrations? Just wish I could have had the time to post this yesterday. blessings..aml..k

in college there was a ground hog burrow near my dorm room. he became our pet. make a long story short we named him "Big Fat Fucky Squirrel"
