Where Do Poems Come From My poems come from things I see A babies smile, a tall birch tree A feeling held within my heart Seems always a good place to start. Shiny black eyes hid in the forest A ragged child who seems the poorest A glowing star in a black black sky Someone who loves as well as I. Tiny arms wrapped round my middle A singing man who plays a fiddle A summer night by a moonlit lake A calling loon or a feathered drake. A bowl of popcorn by a fire A downy bed for when I tire A silver cup that holds a taper Mindless words to put on paper. That's where poems come from.

Good one. If you put a pause[...] between
'good place...to start' it will even out the tempo in the first verse. Enjoyed it. ~E
