at least not when I sleep
I dream in the day time
thoughts in my mind creep
I dream by the lake
watching waves lap the shore
I dream walking in the woods
where I see deer and more
I dream sitting on my porch
gazing at mountains in the distance
I dream of wind in the trees
I dream of a happy existence
I dream of smiling little faces
and hands holding mine
Of far off exotic places
and the passing of time
Of old friends and new
Of happiness and love
Of bright shining stars
and a big blue moon above
Of cool clear water
on a hot summer night
Of warm woolen sweaters
when the sun’s not bright
Of winter snow that crunches
under warm booted feet
Of the big old oak tree
with it's natural seat
Who is it needs to sleep
to dream a dream or two
Not me I think I’ve proven
