Mattie Stepanek, 13, passed away after a long, hard battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was a poet, an encourager, an inspiration, and mostly a hero to many. He fought the good fight, and shall be missed.
Unencumbered by Braces, Crutches, Fatigue, Weakness... I'm walking again on two strong, healthy legs!
Unencumbered by Wheelchair, Ventilator, Medicine, Hospitalizations... Look at me, God healed me, I didn't have to beg!
I walk, And want to keep on running! I run, And want to keep on walking!
I never, ever want to stop again... And I'll keep writing poems from Heaven...
C'mon, let's go meet the One who healed me! Let me show you what it's like to be free!
OUTSTANDING tribute to a tender poet and gentle boy living with pain. This human was stronger than most people I know or read of in this world today. He gave us all lessons to live by. He knew his future was short and he clung to the small details we adults leave by the wayside. He will be missed but his footprints are deep.

What a moving tribute to an inspirational angel. I saw some of the news coverage of this beautiful spirit. He packed more goodness and joy in to those few years, despite of or maybe because of his challenges, than most of us will ever know.

Karla, the ending is such an inspiration, befitting of the young man.
Karla, this child prodigy, will be missed and not only by those in his immediate family. The world has lost a light of hope. Not only was he a simplistic angel..he supplied dreams for those that had not the energy or means to dream alone.
He touched us with his words, now he'll touch us with his soul.

Karla, this is a wonderful poem. Even death can be a blessing. "Trust In Me," said the Lord. Mattie was a beautiful child who's now with the Lord. Only God knows and sees the whole picture.
