Big Brother is watching.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tell no man
That I am a Poet,
For fear They will snap my pen in two
And convince me
That I had nothing important to say:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I've fallen in love,
For fear that They will inject my heart
WIth raw hatred
For anything lovely and meaningful:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I believe in God,
For fear that They will exorcise Him
Out of my soul
So I'll become like the other puppets:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I'm against the war,
For fear They'll say I am a traitor
To our Nation
And tell me that I don't support our troops:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I enjoy music,
For fear They'll make me live in silence
Deafened to songs
That once enticed my clumsy feet to dance:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I have fear of death,
For fear that They'll use it against me
Being tube fed
While making laws and defying God:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I have bad habits,
For fear They will poison me with lies
And deny me
The right to have some enjoyment from life:
Tell no man.
Tell no man
That I am a Poet,
For fear They will snap my pen in two
And convince me
That I had nothing important to say:
Tell no man.
Tell no man.
I agree with many of the others - one of your best, Karla - written from your poetic heart and soul. And I truly hope Big Brother never takes anything away from you, or from anyone.
This SHRIEKS off the page, Karla, and its message needs to be heard by EVERYONE!! This is a stunning write - one of your best, I think, and am keeping for sure. It's form and content really bring the subject matter home... I am so glad to have given up my other reading to come across this tonight. Bless you - NEVER not write... I'll tell someone if you do! :)) LOL Kate xx
