They will tell us anything to get elected even if they know that there is no way it will ever get passed by the Congress and Senate. Afterall, it is our vote they are after not our respect. Good one, Karla!

Reminds me of that old joke: How do you know if a politician or attorney is lying? Answer: Their mouths are moving! Everything's political and power/profit motivated. First there's an oil shortage, prices soar, yet come election time, all of a sudden, there's plenty of oil and prices drop! ??? The public is at the mercy of the big guys, the "powers that be." And it seems that people are now afraid to speak out about certain things! What's happening to our freedom of speach and our courage and desire to make things better? Great poem!

I have a distant cousin who is a state rep and I always ask him why? he's so unlike the norm! He does have a special interest group.. the people he represents. If only more had his integrity... I know some do but we never hear about them...
