tell me, why can't congress live on what they earn? can you guys make any sense out of all that??? you see, it's not like i have money to burn... what i make a year won't feed me or a cat!! it happens every year, it's the same old thing, you'll start to hear rumblings of it, like clockwork... you'll hear the members of congress start to sing, "i need a raise!!" (well, so do I, you dumb jerks!!!) and why can't they live on what they make a year? i'd give anything to have their rate of pay... benefits, medical care...nothing to fear! they don't have to live on so much day by day!!!! let's see...they've fancy houses, expensive cars, let's not forget high priced clothes, exclusive dues, laws don't apply, just of because who they are, can i be elected a congressman, too??? --------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had to rant...Congress members can't live on $150,000.00 a year. They have cleared the way for them to receive a cost of living raise...Why??? They don't have to pay for medical care, they have "perks" available to them just because they're Congressmen, plus they seem to be immune from the law...what applies to us doesn't apply to them! They break the law, oh, well!! Slapped on the wrist, it seems. We break the law? We get the book thrown at us and we'd be put UNDER the jail!! Man, I'd like to see them live on what the average American makes, and not have all of the benefits they enjoy...why should a Congressman make more than a fireman or policeman? Why should they make more than a teacher? Something's not right...

reason: "not enough money in the budget".
Medicare cut backs
Reason:

There's injustice everywhere you go. I agree with Amor, the baseball players and the baseket ball players make millions that shouldn't be.

You said it...poor things can't make ends meet with $150,000.00 a year ...there has got to be something wrong. But then again, even basketball players get multimillion dollar contracts for playing a game. There are injustices everywhere ...there again, is something wrong.

AMEN!! it is sickening.. to think.. hell I Would gladly give them my disabiilty check for a year in return for their monthly checks. Let them try to raise two children on that...
