comfort zone of clouds, wind and
rain. home in darkness is where
i would rather be. i am known,
there. out in the open, there are
no shadows to hide behind: it'll be
just -- me, backlit by my fear of
change. must do this, if i am ever
to learn what it means to grow ...

A fantastic photo. For me, this poem reflects a fantasy for the mountain profile - what he/she is thinking. However, it also has a deeper meaning, maybe reflecting genuine fears or reservations. Excellent:)

Oh, dear Karla, you are so talented and such a totally lovely person!
For some reason, God is stirring your nest, but never fear, as the eagle, He is always near and ready to catch you as you stretch your wings. I quoted Ps. 56 in the poem I posted today. Another verse from it is: "When I am afraid, I will trust in Thee." I used it many times to help my kids when they would be afraid in the night. Mighty powerful words for the child of God! Karla, it never hurts to stretch out into other areas, but maybe instead of darkness you might consider stepping into sunshine. Paint us rainbow words with sweet ice cream and sprinkles on top. ~ Sara
Karla I think your last few writes have proven that you can step into other realms and genres and explore the whole spectrum of writing. We should never limit ourselves in writing for there are so many fresh avenues to explore. If anything your new works lately have been even better than your weather works. Keep smiling.
