Obama still considering charging Veterans for treatment of their combat/service injuries. This is not right!!!! We aren't getting paid enough NOW.

The last four lines say it all... about this situation and so many others! I hate being told that others understand my pain, when I know that they really have NO idea!

he dropped the private insurance plan!! Heard before I did, I'm sure. HURRAH for you and other veterans who made your voices heard!!! Sounds to me like the president made a rookie mistake [as some news reporter put it}. Heart's probably in the right place, given the billions in increased benefits that I understand he is determined to push through. Hope I am not wrong. The fact that he listened and responded as quickly as he did says a lot for him, I feel. A lot of presidents and lesser leaders have turned deaf ears year after year after year.
Looks to me like Obama may be trying to get too much done too fast. . .but that in itself is a breath of fresh air. SO sick of
government foot-dragging!!

As I predicted in my Veteran Chronicles Blog on Tuesday - this proposal is already officially 'dead.' Our new President actually listened to our veterans; something our last President seldom did.
As I recall, he did mention this and other things too while on the campaign trail and he was applauded. Guess most were not paying attention to the rhetoric before election day, huh. I stand with you because this certainly would be a travesty. So is the new recruitment banner going to say "Serve first, pay later"????? Hmmmmm, sounds like Edwin Larson has it right.

I don't believe the plan will gain the stem to move ahead...However, the fact that the Obama administration even presented this plan, and Obama himself refused on Monday to take it off the table, says much about the philosophy and mindset of he and his administration. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Also, another huge slap in the face to all Americans is this fake outrage by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and Obama over the AIG bonuses. Dodd, himself, authored the ammendment to the Bill which allowed the bonuses. Obama signed that bill. In 2008 alone, Dodd received 103k + from AIG and Obama received $101K+ from AIG. Meanwhile Frank is responsible for the Freddie Mac and Fannie May debacle (both of which are giving out huge bonuses as well) Yet, another distraction offered to the public to cover up for the gross negligence and mismanagement of this corrupt administration.
Time for the American people to wake up to the facts.

That's the attitude the government seems to have for those who gave their lives (and time) to try to keep us from harm. Sad! We owe everything to our troops AND veterans of all wars and during peace time! They should not lack for ANYTHING!! Powerfully penned anger; I know how frustrated you are! So am I!!
