... wanted to make my words special,
wanted to polish them until they
sparkled with a brilliance that dazzled:
shiny and new. Modern, you know?
Leave it to me to lose the stupid rag.
So, here are my words, just as they are:
worn. Faded. Slightly dusty. (Bless
you.) Looking at them, are they that
bad? They have a classic feel to them,
like they'll stand the test of time. They
don't make things like they used to.
Now? Break as fast as they're penned.

Coming up on my 20th wedding anniversary, I understand your first line perfectly!! I wanted to make it something special... but then...I realized that it will be special because I will be celebrating it with my love...it doesn't really matter if we spend the day working in the garden with our kids or spend it in an expensive hotel that we can't afford...it only matters that we spend it together...celebrating the life we have.
Your words are the same--they are special because they come from you...whether they are your first attempt, your 1500th, your 2799th or 35,000th.
