i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
tired of strugglin' to get ahead
i'm one of the workin' poor instead

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
worked at my job for five long years
my pay ain't nothin'...brings me to tears

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
wish i could find another job
no car...i'm stuck...workin' like a slob

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
can't get ahead on what i earn
when is it ever gon' be * my * turn???

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
wouldn't hurt if i'd get a raise
maybe some respect, a thank you, praise

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
lookin' for work, it's hard to find,
i'm old, disabled...people ain't kind

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
i'd like to go out, have some fun
naaah... i've gotta stay home, money...none

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
can't afford food for the table
i would buy it if i were able

i ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
live in a low-cost apartment
my pay goes higher, so does my rent!!

ain't gon' take it any more
i'm so tired of bein' poor
managin' money, failed that class...
and bein' poor's a pain in the ass!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i'm sorry...it's been one of * those * days. my
boss expects me to do the work of three people,
but i'm only getting paid (barely) for one.

i'm a crew trainer/leader at my job. no added
benefits for the responsibility...just more head-
aches.

i've been there almost five years...i am a very
dependable employee, always there, seldom
ask for time off from work, have a good atti-
tude (for the most part)...what more can an em-
ployer want??

i'm looking for work, but this is a small town,
and there aren't many jobs to be had. if you
don't have transportation, you're out of luck;
plus, i'm disabled and over age 40...people
aren't kind. and i don't have a lot of experience
in other types of work...and limited in what i
can do because of my danged disability (bad
back--insurance risk!).

my paychecks are lousy. all of my paychecks
are allotted to bills...i'm darn lucky if i have two
dollars left to my name after paying rent and
electric. and i live in low-rent (government)
apartments!! paycheck goes up=rent goes up.

if i'm lucky, after paying bills, i'll have two bucks
left to my name...bills come first. what can i
buy with that????

i just had to get this off my chest...i'm so tired
of struggling...when will it ever get better???
keep me in your prayers...i need 'em, badly...
(((HUGS))) and love, karla. :(

{{{{{KARLA}}}}} i am so sorry you are struggling; i wish i could help you more, but the truth is, i can't. i make even less than you do..$5.75 fucking dollars after two and a half fucking years. i am so frustrated it is all i can do to keep my sanity and to keep from crying!! great rant, though. you needed to get this out, and i needed to get mine out. maybe something good WILL come our way; we just have to look to god for answers. i know it is hard, but it is all we can do. hang in there, and remember, i love you, and i am sorry about last night. forgive me? >tears <
love, your twin, karen lynn. ((((((HUGS))))))

smile! better things are yet to come. dont be disheartened..

we all come to a point where we want to be like this, have like this..etc. but life is life. we have to accept things life has to offer us.

Karla,
This "rant" has incredible rythm. You could look into selling it as a true Country and Western twanger. When I am pulled apart against financial exhaustian I look to my life as a whole for the spaces where I have enough, like friends or pets or creativity.
It allows for a rest. Blessings, Vicky

Girl, I hear whachu been sayin. I feel the same way about my job sometimes. Before that, I worked in fast food. Now that job was pure hell. Some customers in fast food seem to live for treating the workers there like crap. And you can't give them what for. That's damn frustrating!!! Keep your Irish up, Karla.
