i look out at the flat, leaden sky it's nothing like it was in july the leaves are all gone, the grass is brown a chilly rainfall is coming down cold, biting winds howl out of the north an arctic air mass advancing forth they're mentioning "snow" in the forecast (if we get any, it sure won't last!!) people all bundled up in their coats they're wearin' scarves wrapped around their throats they're not used to sudden weather change that's texas for you...the weather's strange! one day, it feels just like summertime while the next, the temp struggles to climb "blue northers," they call these air masses that turn blue your poor exposed asses. :) * 'round these parts, it normally ices when it falls, it creates a crisis cars are slidin' all over the road to get where you need to, just go slow! kids hope their school closes for the day they want to extend their holidays they want to go sledding down a hill they really don't mind the bitter chill we've had some bad winters 'round these parts some record breakers that made the charts there was that winter of 'eighty three that winter was COLD...believe you me! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- *'cause you didn't dress for the sudden change in weather...when you went to work, it was in the seventies, sunny, just lovely! you get off from work, it's in the thirties, falling fast, with a screaming north wind, possibly raining or snowing...or both. and there you are, dressed in summer clothes...freezin' your asses off! :) --------------------------------------------------------------------------
"winter's here, winter's here!" don't ya just love texas weather? :) fixin' to come a blue norther...supposed to move in tonight. while today was beautiful, with highs in the seventies, tomorrow through friday is supposed to be in the upper 30s to lower 40s...FOR HIGHS!! the lows are forecast to be in the low to middle 20s. BRRRR!!!! there is also a chance we could have some cold rain, possibly mixed with (or changing to) freezing rain or snow. HOPE SO!! :) (being from ohio, i miss the snow.)

Weatherman says to expect snow here, too. I love winter, it's the hot summers I hate. You can always grab a blanket in winter, but can only take off so many clothes in summer. Good write!

'Sposed to get cold with possibility of snow here in AZ too, Karla! When I lived in Wisconsin, we got "Alberta Clippers" which swooshed through bring bitter cold and little snow, brrrr...I see the start of a season of poems!! :D Fun, flowing read!
