Karla,

You have given voice to the voiceless with this poem. So many people (women and men) who are abused could identify with this poem. I especially found this part compelling and true,

"i will
carry permanent reminders
to the grave
the
monster
you created
wearing the ugly scars
like a badge
but i won't wear them proudly"

No one will ever abuse your body, not while I live...friends don't let friends be abused...Not sure I liked this one or not, it is scary and kinda self abusive or maybe it makes you feel better to write about it, like I do for my depression when it rears its head...Peace thru the Write, ED & Rufuz (woof to my auntie Karla)

Aaaawwww! I know how you feel. This has similar meaning as my poem "The Devil" (I can't remember whether I had posted it under May Lu's ID or Sandie Angel's ID), sometimes it hurts a lot when people carve us out to be whatever they themselves wanted us to be; but what hurts is what they have carved out is not us.

Good deep meaningful write.
