gosh,I thought this great.....Of the lurking terror .......I was full of fear myself when "feeling" your words...

allowed my brain cells to work overtime with the 100s of definitions amd outcomes of this biiig word "fear"

Loved this...puts me in mind of a supposed haunted house we use to toss rocks at when I was a boy. Great descriptive write.

Yup, bin there and done that... and continue to go there and do that!! It has taken 47 years to have the guts to open up enough to actually confront the reality of my past... but, now I'm taking the plunge and taking a peek, there is both pain and liberation. A neccessary path, I think, if there is ever to be a wholeness and true resolution... ultimately finding, perhaps, that what has kept me hidebound probably no longer exists. Indeed, fear is fascinating, but it is being freed of it that brings us into wide open, shadowless space. Sorry these comments are so long... comes with having had a couple days' off!! A "blood on the dance floor" write... one person's normality can be another's madness for sure... TY Kate xx

Robert, It's the horror inside that makes everyone want to know. I think it has something to do with 'inquiring minds wants to know' thing. We all have it, anything that can't be explained easily away, anything that draws us into it's intrique.
A stunning write from the darker, shadier side..Well done Jude!

We all can remember stories of lunacy in houses all
shuttered up in places like you describe so suspensefully
that become enticing with a fearful attraction, It's odd
how lunacy isn't attractive at all when found in normal
everyday places. Excellent poem.

A good story, whether true or not, always seems to capture our interest. Keeping a distance from the people involved allows the story to continue as our imagination takes over our thoughts and the excitement of it all fills our hunger for gossip and intrigue. Perhaps if someone took the time to go to the house and knock on the door, they might find that the resident is just a normal person...but who wants to ruin a good story, like that? This poem is "on spot," Robert!
