~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In my dream I was lost on an exotic island
Surrounded by waves of flames
The islanders dancing on shore
Were celebrating the advent of the magic sun animal
It emerged over the clouds
And rode in on glorious beams of light
Above a horizon surreal with color
It had no shape
It was felt rather than seen
It was envisioned
Within the contours of my dream
The flames seemed to be liquid
Rising into the air
Like an upwelling of suspended motion
I watched as the islanders summoned
This magnificent force
It brought smiles upon their faces
And their expressions became one with mine
The flames were purifying the dream within me
The island was centering my thoughts
And as I followed the sun animal
Onto the shores of my innermost convictions
I found I was no longer lost
Jude, These are words of terrific force. In my opinion your dream represents the animal called Hope and you described this in a most unique way. I love your writings.
Dear Jude,
In dreams we envisage strange thoughts, those that hide in our sub-concious. All that is needed, is to learn to understand the beauty of their meaning. Beautiful imagery Jude.
Yup, well me and Sherry seem to taking the same jungle trail through this dream-weaving sequence and are following the same signs through to "Home"! The only other thing that strikes me about this is the intensity of thought which is, as it were, burning a hole in the "paper" here... ESP-type of projected thinking is very powerful, especially with those you "track" with; and I think the subconcscious realms of sleep and dreaming can be a crucible in which such streams can concentrate down to their purest essence. Finding that you are no longer lost must be almost as good as (for me)finding what you thought you had lost... but even better is to discover what you never knew you HAD lost until you find it for the first time - or rather, it finds you!! Like having lived forever in shadows and suddenly walking into true light. Perhaps tomorrow will bring the "killing of the fatted calf", so to speak... hope we are all invited to the feast: your islanders DO seem to be mighty hospitable!! :))) (Damn... and all I was going to do was to cut and paste Sherry's comment... TOMORROW I'll be brief...) TY Kate xx
Permit me to assume that these two dream episodes are real. After reading them both, I intuit that maybe your perceptions of reality are changing and that you are opening up to deeper levels of conciousness. This can be disconcerting as well as exhilerating. Or am I just "all wet"?! At any rate, I enjoyed both journeys...
This poem is fantastic in that it is so subjective for the readers. I see the sun as centering and possessing nurturing warmth and as being the light that chases away fears found in shadowy darkness, and "animal" being perhaps the mother figure. An island (a solitary space) surrounded by fire (trapped, perilous potential). Our child always calls out to our mother when we feel helpless or frightened and her very presence magically relieves all our apprehension and projects feelings of love, comfort and safety. The unconditional love of our Mother lifts us up hand helps us to find our center and our way home. This is awesome writing, Robert.
Take care,
Sherry
...that is because you are the sun animal. In reality, no one knows us better than we know ourselves. We just have to be willing to listen to our own voices sometimes. I really like the mood you set with this poem. ~ Sara
Phew, if it were my dream the islanders would have boiled me for eight hours, added spices, and veg, got out the apple sauce, and invite me to dinner.
Glad you found you...
