In my dream
I am walking through a dark forest

The wind is exceedingly strong
Speaking through the leaves
Of marigold trees

Answering to the revolving breezes
In tones
Of rustling color

There is a solitary limb on one tree
Green with spring moonlight

Swaying
Into a vision of stillness

Alive and gesturing upward
Toward the vast network of stars

On this branch there is an owl
Gazing toward me
Fluttering its wings
Pruning its feathers

Its eyes piecing the fabric
Of the night air

I rise to match its eyes
It stares into mine
Into the face of my dream

And hoots a sense of approval
As it flies off into the distance

In my dream I am perched on a limb
Looking over the forest
At one with the motion of nature’s wings
