A bunch of rebels built this country because of that "stubborn bone" that seems to be engineered into us, Jude. We're survivors. And though we may face God knows what in the times ahead, I beleive a new and long overdue paradigm will emerge from the ruins...well done!

Now you got me feeling down, but like the old song says. We Shall Overcome, ... Someday.

There will always be situations that come into our lives that will try to knock us to the ground destroying our faith in the future as well as in ourselves, others and our belief in a higher power. These are the trials we have been warned about. It is in our strength to look forward, and in finding a positive within all the negative which has rained upon us, that will elevate us to a higher plane. The road to enlightenment can be a very rough and painful one, but as we tread forward, we learn new clarity and are rewarded with another glimpse of the beauty that lies within our future. Great poem, excellent flow and awesome images.

Yup, overcoming's good... if YOU can overcome, then that gives the rest of us hope. Makes me think of life on the high wire, and not giving in to the winds that seek to knock you off; looking straight ahead and neither up or down is the way to move forwards, I guess, keeping the perspectives rock solid and the vision right in front of your eyes. Vision is everything and without it "the people perish". Must be because I'm kinda tripping round the dark side of the moon myself that suddenly the lights have gone out... overdosing on Anne Sexton, I think; need to get back to Keats and Browning.
