~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I feel like whipped cream
In a nice toasty warm cappuccino
No sugar added
Or world to upset me
Today I’m just going to slowly sip
Myself into oblivion
And watch the girls stroll by
And gaze into the sunset
And absorb the crimson sky
Today I’m going to stare into the mirror
And laugh at myself
And then wink
Into my far-off reflection
And wonder
Is there any difference
In being cursed or blessed
Today I’m just going to be amused
At being my muse
Rober, this sounds like what I ought to do. Absorve the moment, poet. It's a good plan. Enjoy that cappuccino!
Nice to see you adorning this experience with a cool mood of event and totality of experience. You feelin like whipped cream? I'm feeling pretty frappeed myself, havin been served life's double hand, and veggin on a bean bag in Cafe Perk seems highly appealing right now...perhaps Phoebe can give us a Christmas Smelly Cat tune?! On the other hand, this quite reminds me of a fine old Carly Simon lyric, one way or another! :)) Glad you're moderatin your sugar intake, but I'd also have to watch out that all that saturated fat don't end up on me hips as well... tis alright for blokes... all they have to do is be amused! Enjoy the view, Jude, and that elusive sense of free space and equilibrium... and the frothy moustache is cute! Tea Kosy Kate xx
Letting go of worries, enjoying the moment
and being able to laugh at yourself: to see
the world and yourself in a coffee cup, typical Italian! :-)
Yea sometimes it pays dividends to take stock and just remember what it is to be human and to write because we want to not because we have to. Good one here.
I wondered if your mind ever took a break :>) I don't think I could ever write anything if I didn't have tons of "staring time." If a friend calls, she'll ask if I'm finished with my staring. The mind feels at rest but there's a whole lot going on in there. I love seeing the fun side of you, Jude.
Being one's own muse is so freeing, isn't it? Okay, Shaman Strudel, enjoy yourself being yourself. It's the only way to go when you know yourself is groovy. And I too think strudel would be tasty in a warm toasty cappuccino. :-D Fun poem! ~~Nordette
Its a good policy to accept your lot in life, after all if you are a believer.....then you have absolutely nothing to fear, and everything
to look forward to in certainty !
A very insightful and thoughtful poem, which expresses a strange feeling of ambivalance, when the mind doesn't accept subordination to anything else (not even self).
Good motivation for the inner quest and coaxing the buried strata of your muse. Cursed is The Ocean Mother, who jerks her knee, causing the eggs to fall into the waters and shatter. Blessed is from their fragments comes heaven, earth, sun, moon, stars, and cloud. Perhaps your muse comes from the cosmic egg, the dawn of creation, resulting in three eggs: a gold one for the arrow of life, a turquoise one producing the arrow of fertility, and a pure white one producing a spindle, symbolizing fate. Then from light and sea mist comes a cluster of Bon (fate)which is woven by the wind. Enjoy your cappuccino.
