~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dreams are bouncing
Off the lunar surface again
Suspended in its moonbeams
Revolving around my head
My dreams are growing again
Growing their own body
Sprouting their own limbs
Their eyes are wearing sunglasses
Light is spilling from their lips
My dreams are speaking to me again
For a while they were hiding in my thoughts
Their spitting out poems again
And reciting in foreign tongues
They’re laughing in the meadows
They’re singing in the fields
My dreams are requesting my presence
They’re waiting to have some fun
I have no choice but to join them
Before I become their pun
Dream then, Jude, dream, and muddy yourself in those dreams, wrestle with them and sing love songs to them and race them to the stars.
Ho, ho, ho! Love this upbeat party poem... first four lines sounds like you have had one two many and are seeing stars after walking into the doorframe... nah, that's probably me after me early evening G&T. But, dear me, how rude, Jude!!? The fun with the pun on pun is it's alternative meaning, no? And I love to get Turner going this early on a Tuesday morning... Thanks for the smile! :)) Have a good day, pounding those mean NY streets now you're OBVIOUSLY over the fevered effects of the flu. Adieu! :)) Kanttellapunfromarhyme Kate xx
Dreams are the keystone to the poet's/writer's constructive technique. The poet/writer has to know what these images mean. Why in a dream does the poet/writer climb through the window instead of going through the door? Makes for good poetry/writing. Lover, cat burglar, bright colors, neutral shades, Middle ages, beneath the ocean. Hopefully your dreams are counter-balancing your conscious attitude in your altered state of consciousness. Dreams are knowing the symbolic and the prophecy of things to come.
Stepping out of the shadows and back into the light, accepting ourself as we are and loving it. How could our dreams not drift into that beautiful place of fanciful amusement where the white light pours onto us and prophecy spews forth from our soul? Welcome back to the shores of enlightenment where all of life becomes a motion of emotions and beauty can be found in all that surrounds us. Lovely write, Jude...I love it!
Take care,
Sherry
