~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
More than any desire
traversing across my heart
More than any voice
I hear across the stillness of the night
More than any vision
shared between collective eyes
Is the face of light
like the fusion of a million suns
gathering inside the soul of my dreams
More than the doctrinal decree
of followers and believers
More than prophetic proclamations
of sand swept pages
More than written whims
of historical semblance
Is a city of adventure
where explorers have ventured far and deep
into the abundant contours of life
More than any volume
of matter
More than any degree
of warmth
More than any of the thoughts
a planet will admit
Is the source exchanging the lips
of creative spit
Like very much Sage's notion of the spit on the spine of creative fusion! So many strands and voices resonate, Jude; the commanding tone of Designing Thoughts; the yieldedness of Secret Moments... the phraseology seems to follow the same patterns here. And the imagery of Burning Brightly and Freedom's Heart recur, seeming to become more emphatic. Great last four lines with the rhyme which puts me in mind of the Biblical context: God didn't just think, he spoke, thereby interacting creatively with the chaos/nothingness, out of which all things were born. No number of thoughts can therefore outdo the Source, who has breathed/spoken them into existance in the first instance.... QED why there are soooo many varied thoughts and responses to this poem! :)) Beautiful balance, rhythm and flow to this tripartite write. Most noble expression of creative articulation. TY Kate xx
enjoyed your form with the "more than" statements followed by the defining statements. "face of light" and "city of adventure" images were absolutely striking, which is saying something, Jude, as just about nothing has been striking to me of late. keep those creative juices churning. will look for spit coming to a screen near me, Dawn
This is swift, Jude. A swift builds its nest with its own saliva and the bond is like glue, tightly woven and strong. As the swift, you have built your nest here on the Den from some very fine material, to last and endure the life of the muse. Creative spit is the glue on the spine of the poet's book that holds the collective spit together in fusion, local, national, and international.
"Is the face of light
like the fusion of a million suns
gathering inside the soul of my dreams"
These lines reflect the strength that we find as we venture into the light. The experience of acceptance, love, elation and charity to name but a few of the consuming forces with which we become entwined in that space. There is no greater freedom than what we experience within the embrace of the light; collectively, it is all and everything that we are and need. This is a write as deep as your most soulful dreams and as vast as the universal One. Excellent poem, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
