Fault Lines

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deep down
Deep within the psychobabble of frustrated magma
Within the self-proclaimed stratum of how things ought to be
Deep within layered conclusions of an impoverished acumen
Spurts forth the steam of malcontent
Like a geyser that cannot blow its load
Because its muse has become what it abhors
Sharing ideas
Isn’t that what it’s all about?
Sharing concepts of science and metaphysics
Pondering perspectives of political significance
And celebrating the religious enthusiasm
That inspires so many souls
Exchanging the moods within our hearts
The love, the fears, the moments of doubt
And yes even ranting about how we hate
Conflicting ideas
Isn't diversity the traits of an inspired mind?
But now, I’m being drawn down
Falling into the fault lines
Into this momentary laspe of sense
That I grew up out of
When I was just a little boy
So adieu
I am simply another man
And its time to return to the surface
Love the title, Robert, living in metal country! Now, let me read...
Adieu, indeed. 'Fault Lines' rocks, with mineral propensities of humanistic alchemy.
We are all changelings, twisting and turning in those faultlines. Yes, we learn from each other by sharing with each other. Each of us is unique and this is what we give to the world. Returning to yourself? This is your heart of hearts, Jude...Lin
I am in total agreement with Sherry below on this intriguing composition Ace !
Diversity and Variety and the Spice of Life
We should always be open and receptive to other ideas, techniques and visions, while at the same time guarding our own beliefs dearly !
We don't need the glitter, the flashing neon, the confetti. We just need to know the Goddess is with us, and is at work in us and through us to accomplish our purpose. Triumph and Disasters are both imposters treated the same. I think Triumph has brought more grief to poets/writers. We must keep ourselves centered and not let our dreams be interrupted.
I recognize the thought wave and ideas within this write. Exploratary conversation is so difficult to find when we seem to need it the most. What if? Scares people in their comfort zone, most won't leave such restrictions. Breaking beyond is only accomplished by the few and it those few that are often frustrated by the stuck in the mud types. continue with the flow, as like the seed, it will spread :-)
Exactly Ace! Let go of the hand which only wants to drag you down into the abyss. There will always be those who admire us and those who despise us (often out of jealousy). We cannot save those who wish to drown. I admire and respect your decision to "return to the surface" for you have much more to offer to the living rather than to the dead.
such an interesting and enjoyable read! It would be terrible if we couldn't express our diverse ideas and hear others'. I like the last two stanzas. They indicate that you have a "down to earth" side. Good writing as always, Jude.
I just love the ending, so powerful. I think the nature of the poet thrives on diversity without it, we'd be left with mundane, and like I said, 'I don't care much for mundane.' Excellent poem Jude.
It is the adversity of like that produces character, and the rest periods between that produces diversity in ourselves and others. Good write,Robert.
See you back on the surface soon.
Hi! Read this and have been there and still am. I'm reading Dannion Brinkley's new book, (he got hit by lightning and died twice, met thirteen beings of Light up in a crystal city, and has advice on how to live life, and he talks about how duality is not what we want. We don't need the bad to know the good, there is no good and evil. We have to change until we can make the most of a moment even if that moment is a day. This is the time of year for introspection and change.
Sometime in life you just gotta tough it out.
That's how character is built.
I now geezers who can't blow their load, but there are pills for it..lol
Yup diversity is what makes living fun.
It is all kind of like the ripples created in water when we toss in a stone...first they ripple out and then they ripple back in..so it is with life. We move away from a concept only to be pulled back into it at another time. Diversity is what makes the world interesting no matter if we agree with another persons beliefs or not. How pompous would it be for me to assume that my beliefs are the only correct ones? Freedom of thought and expression is for all people and I for one think it is a lot more fun to be around people who think differently than I do than it is to be surrounded, all the time, by people who think exactly as I do. There are lots of layers in this poem, Jude as well as a feeling of confusion or uncertainty.
Take care,
Sherry
