~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
O’ far greater universe,
Imagined-
O’ powerful civilizations peppering every galaxy
Livening up the stellular saga of galactic history
O’ to reflect on the technological
And spiritual genius
Of god’s accelerated creatures,
Who recognize
Creation is within their intrinsic design
And who implement the dexterity
To share in reinventing the knowledge
Gestating in every stellar nursery
Ah, the journey from our origin
Substantiating our decision to move onward
And rekindle, remember, reestablish
The trail of our movements
And relive the eternal observation
Of purpose
By sanctioning divinity
To experience itself
Through our internal character
O’ dreams of contacting that which we are
And mobilizing the energy, the synthesis
Of what we are knowing
And who we are becoming
And subject our selves to a destiny
Whose light brightens all the stars
Tuning in, the static stellar hiss denotes remnant radiation that still lingers from the Big Bang. The earliest star formed like a pearl inside a shell of swirling gas. Took a million years for that gas to cool and clump together, and when it collapsed the core, triggered the fusion of hydrogen atoms, you, the first Star, blazed into existence. Your Star marked the end of the Dark Ages. You had a short life, exhausting your fuel within a few million years. You died in a supernova explosion which flung you into space with new heavier elements of carbon and oxygen--->the seeds of a future Star, planet, and LIFE! Seed the universe for the next generation of Stars, Jude, as you are from a giant pinwheel blazing blue light of newborn Stars and I am the trailing long streamer blazing right behind you, at poolside a blender away from making a pina colada for the night with the telescope in place and my purple and silver Mardi Gras beads dancing Saturday Night Fever around my neck "Livening up the stellular saga of galactic history!"
reminds me of that song, 'the future's so bright, i gotta wear shades'...it does seem as if one's envisioning of 'what is to come' can be shaded by darkness or highlighted by brilliance and the choice of paths is indeed determined by the individual...
In the kingdom you would be knighted for bringing forth such uplifting positive thoughts and actions! There is a reason many call you Sir Jude :-)
A John the Baptist write that makes straight the paths of all fellow travellers on the journey to self awareness and realization.
I am certain there are populated and advanced civilizations dotted all over the universe, and in the fullness of time, we will receive contact from them, that is, and it's a big if, we survive the Doomsday Mayan year 2012 !
Keep praying Robert...:)
Aha!! Livening up the visionary tastebuds this morning, I see!! Puts me in mind stylistically of O' Kindred Spirit of course, and seems to follow your current golden thread of thought along spiritual and "prayerful" lines. Proclamatory, too. Such energy here, perhaps demonstrating what it means to "Live life to the fullest (and be) the holy we strive for". I was very struck yesterday by your stanza in Surviving Holy which says "Only the semblance of stillness Is the motion Of forever more"... the power and verve of this write seems to me to create this fecund equilibrium, suggestive of the tension of harmony and balance that is fruitful and productive, ushering in a kind of "Shalom". Such a stillness, a peace, is not a "passive nothingness/emptiness" but an active environment which perpetuates and fosters a "forever expansion". Sets me up nicely for a quick workout at the gym before I ease down into beach-chill mode!! Vaya bien y seguro, San Mistico. Siempre, Kate xx
Understanding and accepting who we are and why we are the way that we are, is the first step to enlightenment. We cannot soar among the higher spirits if we have not let go of our inhibitions and self doubts. Excellent poem, Jude. Brighter tomorrows are in store for all who search and believe.
Take care,
Sherry
Robert this is a wonderfully crafted piece. Self-knowledge is the hadest thing to achieve and can only be reached by letting go of our fears and exploring what we do and why we do it. You have given many the first step in the process.
