For crying out loud, cry me a river, cuz it's a crying shame. One of the emotions humans feel. As for dying, we are fighting it tooth and nail, that's why there are too many of us, perhaps leading to our demise.

...sometimes we cry for happy and sometimes for sad, sometimes for indecision and sometimes for those who are unable to cry alone. Tears are the rain that causes the garden of life to flourish. Nicely done, Jude.

That is a true statement, if any is..."Life depends on our mechanism of crying," as I have always felt that those who never shed tears of sadness have only "half-lived" lives. The balance is what keeps us
sane and thriving (especially for poets!).

Crying is very often to release emotion that is just too deep for expression any other way - be it happiness or sorrow. Creation literally "groans" - who can deny it? - producing new life through either pain or delight - and new birth is usually the product of both, no? I think you have articulated a very deep truth here, and one which, owing to our misrepresentative macho culture, is usually suppressed. It takes guts and vulnerability to be free with our emotions - usually because we just can't cope with the idea of where they will possibly lead us and what the new ground is we will be opening ourselves up to. The spirit of venture and discovery is in this write and I believe your proposition is right. No-one wants over-emotionalism which is maudlin and deathly, or just too much hyperstimulation, but the necessary and natural flow of tears is totally cleansing and we do ourselves much damage by suppressing them. Mind you, having said that, I find that humour is truly the only way to keep sane! Since I have been writing and on this site, I have never done so much of both laughing and crying... and look how well-balanced I am... Ooops... just fallin of me perch here... Crying is not on my fast-track for happiness, I'm afraid, Jude. If life depends on our mechanism of crying, that must be the reason all the sob-story talk shows are such hits. Me, I'd rather laugh, or at least grimace. LOL

Feeling a tad low tonight I was, but your incredible insight into human nature, has lifted my spirits somewhat! I dont cry much, tend to hold it all in, (not good) so it may be time to open the flood gates before the damm damn bursts.
