Gotta luv Sage!! So Earl Grey is practising Safe Poetry?! Paris and Helen are alright tonight??!! :)) And "Safe" your poetry is for certain sure... as Dawn has highlighted beneath, "safe" in the wonderful open-endedness of interpretation, the glorious ambiguity of intention, the tantalising question of the universal or personal in terms of its direction. I love the heights and depths contained within each stanza here: roots and space; deity and humanity; dreams and reality... culminating in the fulfillment and harmony of all things in the intimacy of togetherness. There is a confidence expressed here that might be deemed coercive... but I think, rather, that it is simply that you know your receptive audience well, Jude; understanding the nature of those whose hearts and minds you penetrate with ease: for some, "sexy" is bound up in the material things in life; for others - and probably ESPECIALLY for poets - the Open Door comes with intellectual stimulation, the cerebral massage, the spiritual, creative and chemical exhange of energies. Taking, as I have, these last two poems together, they are like a pair of pearl earrings gifted to a Beloved; Biblically, whatever or whoever "pierces your ear" has you, so to speak. I think you amply demonstrate with this mind-blowing poetic serenade that, for us, it is spiritual enlightenment which causes us to "hear and respond".... if this is for Entrees, can't wait for Dessert!! SWEEEEEEETT!! :)) LOL K xx
