Appreciate political, cultural and religious differences?
Explore science, climate changes, human development
Enjoying a good meal, making love, dreaming of a better world,
Celebrating the senses
Can he listen to the chatter of daily relations
And cordially speak to peers and loved ones?
Can he coexist here and now
And in realms expanding
Further than worldly assertions and philosophies?
Beyond the trials and tribulations
Of the flesh’s concerns and desires
I guess it all depends on who you are
And what you know
Or care not to know
Or perhaps how well you can remember
What you have been and are becoming
And even more than that
Who is directly influencing your dreams

Yes, he can do all of these things...IF...man gives up material things, invites creativity into his life which will allow all of his relationships to grow with no predetermined rules, and he can dance free to nature's music through natural expressiveness. People who comply are the ones who influence my dreams, because conformists are non-dreamers, therefore their corridors go on and on and their doors open into nothing but blank walls. Divergent Realities would make a nice program for Mensa participants to evaluate the challenge of your poem, Jude...

Yes, man or woman can do that. But there will be moments when they will need to accept that one or all of those things will fall out of their control. Thus creating a new reality they never considered possible.

Men do it all the time. It's call cheating, leading a double life. The question is can they do it well and be spiritually sound? Okay, so maybe that's not what your poem's getting at. ;-)

I believe these few words are the answer to your questions. Motivation can make us climb mountains and reach goals beyond our dreams when that special motivation is our guiding light, at least it is for me when I get into that superwoman mode and i have more than enough piled on me, but crave the challenge if I am driven by a special imfluence. makes all the difference in the world. I do believe I've asked myself these questions you have perceptivly and exquisitely penned, Jude. You always make me think!

An enlightened and sagacious write Jude. We all have the ability to co-exist on many levels, we create and imagine are own realities, it is our choices that define them. Unfortunately most people are asleep; have you ever seen a film (a docu/drama) called 'What the Bleep do we know?' I think you'll like it, it certainly opens doors and stimulates the synapses.

Yes, this is possible and, perhaps, essential. Just think of all the varied perspectives there can be. To me, that's exciting!
What we have been and what we are becoming are more, I believe, in a circular rather than linear motion.
The enlightened mind is one that always seeks answers and truth in all things, yes he can still accept the civil, moral and ethical values of society but he can also open his mind, heart and soul to what the world outside the world may offer. You are such a visionary and your writes reflect this.

A man can fall asleep, a man can be an insommniac - it takes all kinds, and we are kind of changing all the time, only to remain the same grinning soul we were before all the questions and answers.
Since I believe we are what we choose to be, the answer is yes,if you take control of yourself and use the proper guides. If you don't know what you've been or are becoming, you won't make it until you do.We all live with divergent realities. Not all of us do it well;-)
Lots of wisdom in the last few lines of this poem, Jude. People seem so manic/depressive these days. One day they are talking about their blessings and how life is what we make it and the next they are caught up in all the negativity that is going on in the world and they are feeling as though they have no control over their own destiny. All of the negativity in the world will go on with or without our participation, so I choose to be aware of it but not dwell upon it. Our vision of self should not be be altered by the craziness that spins around us. Excellent poem, great lesson.
