i’ve been around for a relatively long time-
the cool mist launches off waves

looking toward the horizon for a sign,
for a vessel to depart upon

we buried Chee-Wee in a decorated tin box,
silly little love bird that loved to sing
as the sun first showed its ancient face
until the moon howled through the night air
we buried her under a willow tree, alongside the beach
where waves still remind us of her delicate song,
the wind her flight and the sky her color
Beautiful and touching write, Jude. It really shows you are a generous and loving spirit. I am sure, Chee-Wee appreciated singing for you and yours. ~ Sara
Such a lovely tribute to your little Chee-Wee. Now she sings her delicate songs for the angels. Listen carefully and sometime you may hear her singing again to you. You really touched my heart Jude.
Pure and sweet, this poem seeps a sense of sadness yet an understanding too that all things must end and if done with dignity death can be bearable to survivors...

I cannot leave on a boat either on the waves, no money to do that. Sorry about your little pet. I hate when they die and leave us. So sorry my sympathy to you.
Both beautiful and heartbreaking, you take the reader from a place of anticipation to a place of finality. Chee-Wee has boarded the craft, there will be a familiar song whispering on the wind as you prepare for your grand entrance.
