~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in a cold breeze
surround by winter ghosts,
audibly dancing
among frozen hillocks of departed dreamers,
I watch you, tremulous, almost naked,
singing loquacious lullabies
your tormented thoughts
cowering in icy fields besides melting streams,
flanked by an abundance of skinless forms
breathing sustenance into the heat of your vaporous matter,
silently joined together by a noise of light
and the heat of spirit stuff,
realizing your there
gazing into the transience of sparkling ripples
sumptuously alive, until the river of ghostly voices
freezes over, once again
Perhaps an alter-ego, Through The Looking Glass kinda Wonderland write. The Voice here seems to be sharing something of the same clear "mirror" as the one in Shattered Intentions, the singer perhaps the (self) reflexive "you/your", lullabying approval, spiritual heat keeping tortuous thoughts at bay...
Sorry... just seem to have got into this comparative and relational methodology and can't get out of it! It'll pass... or maybe not, as long as wings need two to fly!! :)) xx
Mesmerizing in shrouded mystery; I love these ghostly sentiments, Jude. Very nicely done. Thank you. Love and peace to you,
'sumptuously alive' - what a great way to be amongst all the other images in the poem. Did you want 'realizing your(e?) there' - 'loquacious lullabies' - lovely, softer than babbling brooks - great melt and freeze poem Jude, reminds me of Aguas de Marco, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRqI5R6L7ow - yum! melts...xx
this conjures up magical images the haunting vaporous kind
that dance in our dreams, along with the lyrical voices
A beautifully painted canvas...
Would rather your there, than your here, among the skinless figures, frozen in the mist.
Hey Jude, I like "noise of light" and "loquacious lullabies." This poem gave me thoughts that Conversation or human voices are like a river. I see a river.
Thanks for your interesting and flowing poem.
Jude this is my favorite of yours, to be able to be with one or in a place that is non existent is truly a miracle... though we are awakened by the freeze of the river's voice. Outstanding write!
This has a feel of living in a comatose state of existence, a deep depression where your body wants to live but your mind wants to sleep in a cocoon of safety. Wonderfully written..
Peace, love, and light,
Enjoyed the even flow of this one Jude, sometimes it does seem a blending of sounds and voices take on a life of their own.
There truly are those who live within the realm of frozen thoughts and emotions. For some reason, we wish to believe that we can melt the frigid atmosphere that surrounds them. We hang on the moment when they emerge into the warmth of human kindness, only to watch them slip away from us, yet again, back into their icy world. Unfortunately, love cannot heal the heart and soul of a non-believer. Wonderful, wonderful poetry, Jude.
Take care,
Sherry
"...wither ghost..." "...tremulous..." "...singing lullabies..." the peaceful platitude of someone that are offering a site in front the fireplace, where, from thoughts burning logs we can hear the noise of light...
Stupendous! ! !
From a dream like state back into the realities in such a smooth transition only to return once again when the time is right, so movingly beautiful.....
