~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
it is dark, cold, transient-
a ghostly green mist permeates the opaqueness of evening
rekindling unknown moods
inside this twilight chapter
greeting my presence, distilled and sobered by an intense
swallowing of preternatural air;
exhaling a mysterious surge of anticipation
surmounting the landscape of surreal surroundings:
opening up like a celestial flower revealing its splendor.
for a moment, the twilight transforms into a warmer embrace
as remnants of heaven
radiate a force, from the resurrected depths of blossoming color
This is a beautiful poem. Every reader can interpret this poem differently, but in my mind, I can see an easle with a large canvass board, and rich-colored paints. I can envision a beautiful, plush landscape filled with beautiful flowers and hills. Absolutely beautiful!!!
Totally enjoyed immersing myself into the twilight warmth, resignation, and promise of these lines. Poetry as pure, for this reader, as it is simplistic.
I can feel the warm sun slowly rising into a new day, as color blossoms. "As remnants of Heaven radiate a force, from resurrected depths of blossoming color"...Breathtaking lines that just put the reader there! Thanks for an outstanding poem!
I can see you holding your brush, palette in hand, dabbing the magic of nature and spirit upon the canvas. Icy hues of blue, smatterings of sunny yellow, vibrant colors of Autumn peeking in from the corners. It is the last hurrah before Winter blankets the earth and tucks everything in for a long and much deserved nap. Lots of great images and plenty of room for speculative interpretations.
Take care,
Sherry
... We have daffodils blooming over here... seems they got a waft of that twilight radiation, somehow! :)) I just adore that sudden shock of cold air to the system when one's been inside an overheated, smokey fug in particular; a real wake-up call to the mind and body, sharpening instantaneously all the synapses and senses into that "warmer embrace" of blossoming colour. There also seems to be hovering in this the shadow of:
a(n) alchemical blessing
moving upward
into the golden mist of creative endeavor,
blooming into a blueprint of passion and strength
Anticipation. Yes, that about sums it up. Anticipation does this, gently warming those prevailing moods of dark, cold transience. And very transitional which, of course, is the nature of twilight. Yum. I like. xx
Hey Jude, all about colors of twilight. This poem reminds me of impressionistic music, Ravel or Debussy. I like "warmer embrace."
"...exhaling a mysterious surge of anticipation..." escaping and leaving up to us to find the words that follows by disappearing into that "...surreal surroundings..." to find, if we care to see, the "...blossoming color..."?
The movement not just in words but in feeling and reaction from 'dark, cold, transient' to a 'celestial flower...' is richly transmitted in this fine poem.
