~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
               the most flexible minds
monitor galaxies of expanding imagination
               the most insightful sage ventures only slightly off-shore,
into shallow depths of spiritual sediment,
   until the outward pull of the tide drowns the fear to swim upward
                 the inquisitive powers of astute metaphysicians,
         only speculate on the probability of what is occurring
 on grand, infinitesimal scales
          simultaneously clutching
                  the emotional syntax of the cosmos,
grappling with magical mechanisms of cause and effect
                  expelled by veiled particles of design and purpose
         and the chaotic deficiencies of universal thought
      hence, the bubbling brains of universal structure
   constitute the marrow of fleeting substance
                  riddled with squiggling parallel membranes
                    skimming analogous networks of individuality,
         set into motion by creative idea-
        it’s natural for the most advanced intellects to know nothing
      but what suits their beliefs
go ask a frog before it’s kissed into a prince
:)) !! xx I'm having to keep my tongue tightly furled inside my wide gob here to refrain from a more-than-obvious joke... besides, I have totally exhausted myself on DD for now, so I'll just squiggle off like the tiny tadpole wot I am... aKwatiK aKrobatiK xx
The shape of your poem is uncertain, growing, shifting like thoughts, galaxies, "fleeting substance". So the form is already a revelation.
And the poem itself questions the power of the mind, its ability to be completely independent and to "know". Although I would argue that not every frog can be kissed into a prince. You have to know which one used to be a prince between it was turned into a frog. :)
Brilliant write my friend, as usual, but, I've kissed about a hundred frogs and have yet to find my prince. May your pen never run dry.
Nice way to express how one individual can take a stand and move people with that idea, takes a strong will and lots of determination...
I'm always in awe by your perspective,which is always a notch above most.The shame of it is we need leaders to think like this,and rarely do we have them! Great last line to sum it up;-)
Jude, thanks for the exercise. If new ideas are old ideas, how
many ways can a kid dissect a frog and why? -gene.
Today, I was able to grasp each line and understand and feel your words, without having to read it again. The last line just made me smile.
Very good poetry here,Jude, as always.
Orbiting frogs were sent up in space in 1970 to study motion sickness...The Orbiting Frog Otolith housed the bullfrogs for a week as they circled the Earth. Scientists measured their vital signs and once the experiment was over they simply left the frogs to work it out for themselves. LOLOL, Oh this is a pearler Jude. Reminds me of a Riddle our old Teacher used to hit us with on a Mon Morn...He'd ask us to pick a number between 1-10, x 2-4 Divide by whatever..on and on then outa the blue...How many legs has a duck! I only got caught once, then I was on to him...It was so funny. The world is like that, no matter how many times BS is bandied about, ppl still get suckered.
Loved this
This is a mind-stretcher, Jude, and a great title, too :-)
I am always amazed that the great minds only echo and piece together old ideologies, never daring to break new ground. Seeming to be leaders, they are, after all, only followers.
