~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
before you began to alter into what you are today
your composure was reminiscent of Rhodinia
whose emotional stamina
shifted violently while slowly moving away from itself
and as you broke apart, the entire world
felt the wrath of your explosive and devastating effect:
the relentless, diabolical behavior of a saintly spirit
altering everything touched or spoken to-
an abnormal episode occurred as you fissured,
you glimpsed life’s borders on horizon’s ledge
and became a desert island, living on the boondocks,
your granules refusing to return to the sea
even the wind declines to move over you,
instead chews on what you use to be
Saw this and figured "Rhodinia" was either the flower genus or the photographer at trekearth.com....both are lovely sentiments.
Happy New Earth Year 2 U Jude,
Sid Barrett, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Kossoff ... the list of those whose genius is sadly late and lamented because their form of unique creativity and brilliance was just too great to house them in mortal frame... at least, sitting here in my comfortable Christmas front room watching the 1994 Pink Floyd Live At Earl's Court DVD with its full-length run of Dark Side Of The Moon suggests this line of thinking to me right now... Even the wind draws a breath and creates hallowed space around those whose greatness at a certain point of time will be forever enshrined...
Other than that, a Picasso-style form of Blue self-portraiture, but of course...
Happy New Year, Dude xx
From the outside it is often easier to see how fragmented and un-nurtured some people's lives are or can become. I wonder if from the inside looking out, the person sees life closing in on them and destroying their perception of what they believe life actually is. Lots of meatiness in this offering, Jude. I read it three times in order to absorb it enough to finally have it flow through my thought processes. Outstanding and most perceptive poetry. Happy New Year!!
Take care,
Sherry
A sobering vision, especially that last line. We certainly must be careful what we put out there. Jude, thankyou for all the inspiration the past year, and I pray that all that is good will shower you with health and inspiration in the coming New Year.
Blessings ...
Hey Jude,
I always have liked reading your words. You pen them so well. What can one say to your ultra-senses and penning them so well.
Stay Strong
In Spirit,
beautiful, complete expression of a concept -- need not be lengthy when the verbiage is a poetic, velvet glove -- peace to you my friend -- JMW
Man, you sure get deep, sometimes! But this one is geologically as sound as bedrock.
A powerful psychodramatic portrait in poetry. The blend of empathy and observation is exceptional as is the ever-increasing depth of the poet's definitive voice.
Jude, I did a search on the net to find out what Rhodinia is. You've chosen a wonderful metaphor and your imagery is incredible.
