yep, seems like it... at least, last time I looked just a few weeks' ago it was, though I thought work was still going on at the site in some shape or form. But, more than that, this is provocative: whenever national tragedy strikes, such solidarity of "national" heart and soul ensues for a while... only to dribble out through the socks pretty smartish just as soon as politics, religion and mammon reassert themselves... Oh how I know. Though we have contributed much I can't help but think that perhaps God is sending us a message to leave it alone in honor of all who were killed and injured that fateful day. We have been there a few times as so many we know were involved, yet it still takes my breath away and the enormity of it all. How well I remember taking the train in as a kid just to watch in awe as the towers were being built only years later to watch them fall......
That's about it in a nutshell. How things have changed since the trauma. Will that giant hole ever be filled in the psyche? Don't think so. Intense ku that leaves a lingering sadness. Well done...Lin
You have packed a whole lot of power into so few words, Jude. Your words play out in so many ways. Though there is still sadness, there is a lot of apathy, as well. Because we have not been attacked since 9-11 many have gone back to believing that we are untouchable. Complacency truly is the enemy of freedom.

Karma. Just leaving Ground Zero to rot, amongst other atrocities is why the earth has a hole in its own heart. The money we could have used for good was stolen like a thief in the night! Now we are all feeling the wrath of it. And the Devil is the only one happy.

Everyone has a connection to this, for myself, it was a wake up call, and I feel that people are still asleep and need to realize just how deeply this hole is.
