lost in direction
is like a monarch butterfly
fluttering across wet sand

Lovely sweets.

Really Lovely.

You know though, if you took out the like in line three--it's still work and it'd be tighter.

And I do debate the word windy because it makes me think of gas...lol.

But I like it. I can see the wings of the butterfly seeking, seeming lost.

jude, dreams the life cycle place where we spend at least one third of our life --recall is for me now a rare occurrence -- usually when it is a nightmare and I awake full on -- recall is always easy then -- succinct and thorough expression my dear friend -- I bid you love and peace -- Jon Michael

A great little simile. You probably can't believe it, but I didn't read this poem before I wrote “The Last Butterfly” on Friday. Maybe there is something to be said about a ripple in one end of the universe creating a hurricane in the other.

I love monarchs, don't you?

A most frustrating sceanario, too often they end up just as you've described. Well done my friend and good to read you, more often I feel :)

Like the mind of Jude the Misplaced or the acts of the Scarlet Pimpernel, this fluttering beauty of an image has left its gold-dust on the shimmering, damp strandlines of our soul before, I'm pretty certain; unless it's just my windy recall! :)) It's funny just how often dreams seem to collide when seemingly at their point of least convergence... it's usually only el levante that can do that! xx

You may have doubts about many things,
Jude, and that is as it should be
but there's no doubt about your abilities;
dreams are always tricky territory.

Hey Jude, that butterfly is one lost soul, sometimes being found is what we are looking for. Dreams do tell us so much, dig deeply with this one, desperation is a big clue to what is going on in one's soul. If one is in a desperate state, that means that one knows that change is eminent, and finding what is missing is optimal for one's mental and physical health.
Deeply moving poetry, said in Jude eloquence!

Much peace, light and love,
Amber

Nice going, jude: “Our life is composed greatly from dreams, from the unconscious, and they must be brought into connection with action. They must be woven together.” Anais Nin Greetings from a neophyte.
