~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the sky is troubled
with collective clouds of war
carnage rains down
red gore flows through rivers
bones replenish the earth
the sky reveals the light of the heavens
will mankind ever see through it?
This question was a to die for...as centuries mankind has fought wars for what ? have they accomplished anything ? the only thing I see is waste of human lives. Mankind will never change to answer your question...great job with your words...
It's like we're seeing the denouement of a well-crafted science fiction; like a historical Halloween where it's all smoke and mirrors, the incantation of old spells and deciphering of runes. The world grows ever smaller and we see history laid out like lace. Yet we look to the pinholes of light through which we may see the face of God. And they are often in human form and more of them than we think, so we join the dots - and yes, we see through it. xx
Most do. The few who don't gain power and make wars. Well written.
We certainly are living in trying times, Jude. It seems that the world is inflamed and irritated and we are all observers trying to make sense of any of it. It seems as though we will be getting to the "Ashes to ashes" period far too soon.
This poem is almost Zen like in its simplicity but packs a mighty wallop. Great write!!!
I wonder how the metaphor of Adam and Eve will manifest itself next time around.
I agree with Jerry, we shall undoubtedly see it through - It remains to be seen whether or not we manage to see through it.
No doubt that wars have started with less provocation than now.
The question may be undying, and the answer is also. Yes, we shall see it through, unless the so-called rumors of war continue until everybody has a nuke and then . . . Even then I foresee two people who will have survived. Two people. Male and female. Starting over.
