Come Sit with Me-Revised © 2006~18 March, 2013 Dan Johnson come sit with me on this fallen log we will talk of love…love now and ever more walk with me to the meadow where willows bend and the winding creek blends time with fingers dancing through soft and sensuous ripples while summer breezes gently blow come sit with me on this grassy knoll we will drink sweet wine… get lost in each others glow And forget about father time cross the creek with me, we’ll go to where lovers go let’s walk until the sun falls down come sit with me we’ll snuggle close while the moon adjusts its brilliant crown.

I envy those, perhaps you, who have experienced this with a loved one. It was something I sought in my youth, but never achieved. To think that young women would be even attracted to going off with me, a pimply faced skinny kid, to even have a picnic under a shade tree by the creek? Oh, how I longed for a beautiful fishing buddy. It never happened. Those experiences you wrote about in this poem, for me were real, but very lonely without her love.

I liked this. This is like so softly spoken and imageries you have created are so beautiful! I have not read the first version, but this revised version obviously has my vote.
