That which in enduring eyes must sigh; At evening's stale breath inquires why; Does in circumstance and eager condition lie; Sees man devoid of kind devices for reply. He says to himself, "I don't know," In prose, his feeble excuses flow - His eyes titter on the edge with a glow ... Of verse! Of logic! Of that which we think we know! His scars! His shine! A maddened course! Twist and gnaws his teeth of remorse ... Of course! His metamorphosis's erodes with force, Yes! Yes! Our braggart screams at us, until he's hoarse! Skilled in the art of intense confusion, He knows he's the master of sly illusion.. He says he's the source of all delusion - Before he retreats again into seclusion! That which in enduring eyes deny; Thinks everyone else is a spy. Justifies himself and his sum, by and by ... Eventually, he considers the works a lie! If we could play a video tape of our lives, who would we see?

I'd see insanity, humanity, craftily, flirty, yada yada! ;) Actually, I'd keep looking to see what more I could do to better myself in order to better my fellow man.

Excellent write. I loved the perfection of the following lines:

Absolutely brilliant and profound and I KNOW you Shy...and so ...I feel I KNOW the poem...its essence....it is one of your best....I am trying hard to answer your question but I can't... I am not sure how I see myself....but to sum it up...I would hope that most see me full of love for humanity....and hope....lots of hope thrown in there...gosh you have got us all thinking with this magnificent write..I am so glad I found time to come on here friend...Standing ovation on this one......Floria

To answer the question,rolled into one...I would see my hero....
and...the one who tripped me over most,(me.)Contrary lady,the star and villian.
Yes,I would know her,like her?not always,love her,yes,(cause someone has to.)One thing for sure in that video,I would get a good cry but as well...I'd have a bloody great laugh.A comedy of errors it would surely be.
Shy...only you could come up with this deeply profound poem,I love it!
I think if I watched the video of your life,I might just see...an awesome poet.

This poem has so much depth...I love how you make me think. Your thoughts are just ....waaaaaaaoooow! Enjoyed reading it and felt several different emotions in doing so. Loved it :) Those last two stanza --- you tore it up! Applause!
