the grass quit growing I fell in love with a poet a songstress of the soul a poetess singing songs of love and heartache and loss and painful memories of a sorrowful past mirror to her soul I fell hard connected by thoughts and words I fell further Into a future uncertain Into a new garden planted an oasis’s in the desert two spirits intertwined waiting patiently for time and fate to catch up with their destiny, all around the grass did wither brown and scorched dust devils shimmered to their soulful song love bloomed in the heat
of that summer drought, it took a lot but a garden grew roots firmly anchored
