Journeyman

I’m just a spirit
restless
as the wind
drifting……………………………….

Shift shaping
lizard by day
coyote by night
town to town
riding the ridges
chasing
shadows
down
lonely gravel roads
places that saw, better times

Searching for that
connection
to who or what, sick of the distance
bring on the thunder

Strike me
down
tumbling, from town to town
carried by these
South West winds
Overtaken
by the silence
of the nightfall
rolling with morning…rustling tree branches
water  cascading, calling me to join
to journey
down these
sacred, canyon’s
floor
a journeyman
traveling
searching for that……
connection......searching

I think we are all journeymen in our own way...trying to find the path and the "mission" for our lives...

I suppose journeyman is synonymous with loneliness, Stand.
Unless, of course, the journeyman stops from time to time
for a squeeze or a hug...a connection. I like the architecture
of this finely written poem, Stan.

connection; more like compassion, of which no matter how much we adore the trees and the mountains and the aspens [ahem] they never hug you back. chasing each breeze that blows. . .. .
how does it feel? like a rolling stone.
i think i feel you.
coyotes sound so lonely.

Nice journey, needing to find a nice ending and something to live by. It hasn't ended yet it seems to me.

Stan, now I know who you are; the 21st century "Easy Rider." Nice writing, keep it up.

Peace,
Dan
