My little valentine!

Love is where you find it!

My little valentine,

Flew to me like an Angel,

From God’s own heart,

Not it is, an earthly love at all,

Her love transcends all bounds,

It was spiritual from the start,

My little pooch,

Fluffy white and happy,

Adopted me with love,

True love that is,

Wrapped with a bow in her hair,

Noisy bold and yappy,

That little bundle sweet and true ,

The true st love I ever had,

Honoured, so proud I feel,

To transcend such love,

Most beautiful and glad,

Jasmin was her name, not Buttercup or Sue,

Cuddles and kisses we shared,

Garlic spareribs, cheddar cheese, and ice cream,

Those were her favourite treats,

Among just happiness she brought,

Much happy yappy talk,

And miles and miles of happy walk,

Pretending to drive, in my arm she sat,

Like a teenage child,

That little brat,

The open door an invitation,

To take up battle station,

In control she was, let’s go,

Never ever, did she listen?

No never I can remember,

She was the boss,

She tell me what to do,

She thought I had no clue,

A real dominatrix true ,

She’d often entertain a crowd,

With antics of her choosing,

Such a joy to have around,

Much mirth and love she brought,

The beauty that she was,

Her being most amusing,

Mischievous was her middle name,

She’d look at you in taunt,

Jasmin would I say,

My finger whacking,

And just for that,

She’d do it just the same,

No respect for my commands,

Or even my requests,

Incredulous she’d look,

Who do you think you are?

Turn full circle,

And do, what she thought best,

A real dame she was,

In all but name,

She knew so well, that wee coquette,

How beautiful she was,

She’d play her flirting game,

And then played hard to get,

When in her best was dressed,

Pink ribbon in her hair,

Composed and lady like,

White curls, and deep blue eyes,

Pink tummy, and pink tongue,

My God, she looked so fair,

Booth sides of heaven,

Here to earth she brought,

From the spirit realm above,

With Gods and angels love,

To my heart and soul laid claim,

This was, her sole and solemn aim

Those that never had a dog are missing the real meaning of love.

"Love is where you find it..."
And with a precious pet, there is so much to find. You've written this with such heart, J.H., that I feel a cuddling at my ankles...warm and sweet!
