The last bastion of free speech in the world falling for spurious reasons?

Mr. Goebbels lied, and Himmler too,
So did Adolf, and Stalin had a few,
We believed what we were told,
No one dared their lies to scold,

Why you say, you wonder,
Smart folks, would make such blunder,
For one, there was no Assange,
To lie, they had carte blanche,

Free press, freedom of speech,
Are you kidding, such things were out of reach,
You did what you were told,
Best you joined the common fold,

But, there was order in the land,
Only they kept taps, you understand?
Of the guy that killed the Jew,
Was not told to me and you,

Have things changed since then?
Who gave up power, freely, when?
A lot of dirt there is to hide,
A lot of doe, a lot of pride,

Too, there was no Cheney, Bush, or FBI,
Not like them to tell a lie,
Worry about laws, and torts,
Or, even, possible war crimes courts,

Might it be, the truth not won?
Again some poor boy, wears a gun,
While those in power, false tears they cry,
Surely, one thing they practice, is to lie, lie, lie,

The industrial complex, banks and all,
We poor sops for their lies did fall,
Millions suffer now in dire straights,
No not Cheney, though it grates,

I wondered, treason for Assange,
It might just serve, give him Carte Blanche,
Find the hidden criminals, and who, dealt who,
But that my friends, simply would not do,
Would it?©11/12/2010

Its not that we fell for their recent lies. We knew they were lying and just shook our heads rather than kick their collective asses. So the madness will continue until everything REALLY turns to shit. Patrick

Some things never seem to change, and I doubt they ever will.

Weekends In New England by Linda Alexander

Love, romance, innocence, intrigue, danger, and lust. Life is complicated, and love even more so. Life, and love, can be hazardous to a lady's health. Especially if she's fallen in love with a married pop star.
