Mother Earth is Weary
-----------
 O Weary...weary
Our Mother has seen
our lives unfold

Civilizations rise and fall
She foretold the universe
humanity and its demise

O Brother...Sister
we honor those that are gone
for they cry

They realize we can't hear
the songs of the angels

The light we can't envision
Mother Earth and the stars
shining brightly interstellar space

You've felt the pain
yet she's sheltered you

O Youth...Sweet youth
lost on battlefields
our warrior spirits control us

Our hair now gray
the lines upon our faces
tell tales of man and woman

O Life...Sweet life
it comes and goes
as beauty breathes the air

You suffer so
just as lovers do

O Mother...Sweet Mother
we've abused you so
The ancient ones
They honor your creation
Their freedom is fleeting

O Weary...weary
is this earth
warfare upon her

People in conflict weep
Our mother will be healed
when we fall by the way

Only death can claim us
to be reborn

Poignant beauty in this write of sorrow, Dale. I think of John the Baptist and his cries in the desert. I know it seems so, but I can't believe that man's demise is written in fated stone or that nature cannot renew herself. To accept that would be accept defeat and relinquish control to the powers that be...

Hey CJ,

Many of us have grown weary. These feelings are like birth pangs. The darkest point of night is the moment just before the sun appears. I believe that this moment is upon us. Excellent write, my friend.

Dale I'm so tuned into this one, I feel unable to leave, and can hardly comment! I think of Creator giving us this magnificent planet and we are systematically destroying it, even after learning of what is happening to it,the abuse continues. So very sad one can hardly understand it. Awesome poem Dale! Thank you!

Yes Dale. It is time to weep (if there is still time). Well-expressed, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Regis
