Notes of a Madman

Notes for a future tale
told by an incredulous pale
lonesome man
in pain
Your cold, baby
the wind howls
you scream
obscenities
at me
Why?

Forget it
it's only a note
to meself
I said I would
and I have
thrown out the lies
to see the truth
to soothe my frail heart
beating so
in the words I type

Sh*t!... whatever became of a pen
or pencil
a pad of paper
torn, faded, lost then found
smeared ink
running down the page
of my life
yellowed by disease
of another life
I once had

Totally a mad man
on a wild horse
I'll ride across your plain
scattering sage
to make good medicine
for your mediocrity
Heal ya baby
I will
if you'll only stop that cold
hearted screaming

Rejoice now in my dream
I'm creating just for you
lit by love
the firelight glows
for you
Open your eyes
and feel
You're not everything
I ever had
or ever wanted

A lie I told once
was love is blind
View my dream
then you decide
if I'm different
cause you wanted to change
me
into your ideal man
to worship and hold
the light is bright

A lonesome man
sending love
to someone
who might care
A loving madman
in your dreams
listening to your screams
I'm tired
I'll just climb back on my ride
and get the hell outta Dodge

Great work Dale, like the honest intensity. Sometimes getting out of Dodge is the safest thing we can do!
