The Matador Of Love

He is sexy and debonair, he causes passion to fill the air.

He is every woman's dream, this sexy Matador,
All hail the Latin Lover, the one all women adore.
His speech is so smooth, he aims to please,
He is so romantic that he makes women faint of heart and weak of knee.
He is like Zorro, the Thief Of Hearts,
He makes wooing a form of art.
He is a fantasy merchant, with dreams to sell,
But once you buy his product, your heart is cast into Hell.
Beware of his dark dreamy eyes,
They will beguile and mesmerize.
Many women have whispered his name,
Fell for his line and now they burn with shame.
He treats all women the same, one size fits all,
He is truly beautiful and women easily fall.
He romances ladies to a latin beat,
He fills them with desire and passion's heat.
OLE! As he makes a pass the crowd goes wild!
As another woman falls for the Matador, she is bewitched and beguiled.
He is most beautiful, he causes women's senses to reel,
But alass, he is but an illusion, not real!

Having spent a few years in Salinas, Califronia, which is 70% Hispanic, I was amazed at how many men I met who were exactly like the depiction of the swashbuckling, debonair, Don Juan-esque Latin lover. And how many wouldn't be caught dead washing their sneakers for a date. Broad disparities. Lovely poem, SC.

They say the blood of the bull runs through the Matador's veins when the kill is made...perhaps that is why the myth of the hot Spanish bloodlines of passion were formed.
