Sometimes the Justice System is deaf, dumb and blind to the victims of crime.

Time walked on leaden feet, as Florance lay in her bed,
The Beast slept soundly, as though he were dead.
Florance's heart was beating frantically, she wanted to flee,
" Please God, just let me escape!". was her silent plea.
She finally inched her way and slipped off of the bed,
A step by step plan for survival formulated in her head.
Florance made her way to the backdoor, finding her winter boots,
She slipped into her long coat, covering her nude body, found her keys and into her car she did scoot.
She drove next door to her son's house and rang the bell,
She had made it, she had escaped Hell!
It was Easter Sunday,
Her grandkids were looking forward to the Easter Bunny.
Florance collasped into her son's arms,
Her tale of horror made him gasp with alarm!
His wife called 9-11 and he armed himself with a baseball bat,
Hate raged in his heart and he prepared to do combat!
He entered Florance's backdoor, quiet as a mouse,
He located the deer rifle he kept at his mother's house.
Suddenly the police arrived, entered and turned on Florance's bedroom light,
There lay the Rapist, all tucked in for the night.
The police cuffed the Beast and took him to jail,
Florance and her son trusted that justice would prevail.
What happened next brought up their bile,
The Rapist copped a plea, the District Attorney said that there was no need for a trial.
Florance was outraged and so was her town,
They signed partitions, went to the media, Florance's story became renown.
The Rapist showed no remorse and looked at Florance and smirked,
Very little time would be served, was just a slap on the wrist for the Jerk.
At his parole hearing, deaf ears ignored Florance's plea,
The board released him and Florance left the hearing saying," There was no justice for me!"
Reporters asked Florance's son if he had anything to say?
He said," The Justice System is a joke, I should have blown the Bastard away!"

I lived through this as a young girl of nine. But my monsterS came in twos. I had the horoor of seeing them walk the streets in my neighborhood as I watched in fear day after day. They led free lives while I coward in my prison of fear, pain and dread. This is very heartbreaking to read, but so very TRUE!!

Another sad reflection on man kind.

As shameful as this planet is, the majority of our elderly did their utmost best. And we repay them, by violating them physically, emotionally and socially.

God help us all.

This is too bad that they let the criminal go free. He should have been in jail for a long time for attacking an old lady!!!
