My Dad’s Advice

The future is different than we think
As many things can change in a blink
Circumstances arrange the situation
For good people with dedication

Sadness makes us cry about many a thing
But joy makes us happy and lets us sing
Those who love to work will find their luck
As work gives hope and lets us earn a buck

May one’s pockets be empty or full
One should let one’s own guidance pull
Following what our soul makes us do
Will avoid us surprises out of the blue

When things do not work out or go wrong
Treat yourself to a nice meal and a song
In order that something may bring you joy
Don’t leave it to others to choose the toy

Don’t ask yourself why, do not keep score
As you just opened the happiness door
Which is not always given to everyone
The beauty of joy, happiness and fun

Acting this way will make you feel good
As well as you relatives, it’s understood
This way will keep all the problems away
And protect your loved ones every day
