An empty bed next to mine
No wife, lover, concubine,
Or living soul lying there;
My whole life had been stripped bare.
An empty chair next to mine,
No wife, lover, concubine,
Or living soul sitting there;
My life is full of despair.
Lit screen opposite my chair,
Many e-mails flooding there,
Signs of love through ether flown?
…I am no longer alone…
Open emails on lit screen.
I'm ready to rave and scream.
Oh, bugger, cursed life and damn!
Every e-mail is a spam!

Footnote:
This poem started with the first four lines,
written on Xmas Eve, as yet another tearful lament…
Then Christmas morning another four lines were added… amidst tears…
Then in the morning of Boxing Day I opened a few messages of love
sent via email… and the next four lines were added…
Then… the "devil" in me took over…
I'm no longer crying, I'm laughing aloud… at me…
I'm not apologising either…
When humour returns, however twisted… that is a sign of healing…
A Christmas miracle…
And Thank You All for your messages of goodwill!
Much appreciated.
Though late in reading this, still I say you are a really good poet!

Intriguing composition on sadness and healing in "No longer alone…" I like it.
May 2008 show us the way to improve the quality of life in our HOME planet EARTH under the light of creativity and fraternity.
In gratitude, positive cooperation and fraternity.

Very well penned; and as long as you're here on AD, you'll never be alone! You will never be alone if you have God with you; He'll never leave or forsake you; He's always there!
May you have a better '2008'!
(((HUGS))), much love, and many prayers~ As always, your friend in America, Karen Lynn. :D
