Poem Artwork

            We are two riders,
guardians of the pathway between two worlds.
Our purpose not easily expressed; our
gifts not easily packaged in a box.

            We share awesome task,
rush at lightning speed toward heavenly light,
back toward confounding gloom in earthly realm.
Riding alone, and sometimes together,

            We ride into storm
prepared, aware of what might lie ahead.
Duty may require battling demons
draconic or clearing cosmic debris.

            We return, restore
energy, replenish spirit’s fuel and
resources spent. Riders on white horses,
we don burgundy cloaks and enter in

            Again. We chase down
unwelcome intruders who would divert
long way of unsuspecting traveler lone.
Invisibly we work to keep path clear.

            We are two riders
who serve in Kingdom of Glorious Light.
Guardians of the pathway between two worlds,
we wish you Godspeed on grand adventure.
