Ms. Mouse’s Cheese House
By Kathy Armijo

Down the glen,
around the bend,
on the edge of town,
you’ll find a bit of heaven.

This isn’t your Mother’s Cheese House
nor for the faint of heart.
I offer a brie-illant spread of cheeses
to tantalize the palates.

There’s camembert
for those wearing horsehair,
and mozerella
for the other fella’s.

A little cheddar
for your apple pie,
or perhaps a little sharper
to make you stronger than Popeye.

But, this spread has just begun
to brighten
the likes of the Neanderthal poets.
No need to put up defenses.

A glass of wine
will make it all superbly fine.
Add some chocolate, dried fruit
And some crackers to boot.

Oh my gosh,
such a wonderful nosh.
Those Neanderthals
we’ll then wash.

These poets may spout
their poetry,
but they truly prefer the revelry
In Ms. Mouse’s Cheese House.

This is so clever, Kathy, but to be honest you can have those nasty boys. If they don't bathe BEFORE they come to visit, they will have to play in the yard with the wolves, and no putting those yucky behinds on the lawn furniture either!! There is not enough insecticide in the cave to de-bug the wolves after they leave and certainly not enough bleach to sterilize the patio rocks and logs. LOL!!!
Take care,
Sherry

Dear Mrs. Mouse, what a very lovely cheese house!
And we Neanderthal Poets will surely be stoppin by,
On our way to the Grand Creek Cave Poetry Recitals.
But you can skip the washin part, we'd rather stay dry,
Not bathing for this epic weekend event, is entirely vital!

Ahh sounds like a lovely place Kathy, now though I must ask a favor from you to me, you see a caveman I may not be, but an Urban Neanderthal you see, so can you stock some thick sliced Kraft processed, a cube of Velvetta be nice too, Maybe some of them little cubes wraped in tinfoil I like them it's true, now I know Anne has the wine concession, and La Belle will be hearing confession but if you put beer on ice, it would be very nice in Ms. Mouse Cheese's House as a cat I'll have to think twice, to bite off the hand who can't understand cat's would rather eat mice...

Spounds like a fine place to go. There was a cheese house where I once lived and they had every variety of cheese one could imagine. It was a wonderful place to go, and your poem reminded me of it.

Wine and cheese is a "brie-illant" treat. Such a cute poem, Kathy.

Such a play on words. How rude, how crude such an outlandish ridicule. Such woman's folly at we gentelman's expense. My-oh-my what will you think up next??? I have no idea what you're talking about, Kathy, please fill me in for I'm just a poor little innocent mouse. I don't even have a house.
